New NYC Fitness Class | Buddhaburn

If you live in NYC you know that there are always new fitness class popping up and being in a  big city there are hundreds of classes going on at once.This past Tuesday I went to a new NYC fitness class called Buddhaburn that was actually founded by one of my insta friends Christine Cody  and Jessica Rapp. Buddhaburn is a total body workout class that fuses HIIT with targeted Vinyasa Yoga.

I workout regularly and do mostly HIIT, Spin & Yoga so I wasn’t expecting to struggle through the class but ohh was I wrong. Buddhaburn was definitely a challenging workout, I had to stop and take breaks and at some points my legs felt like they were going to collapse under me. However I love those types of workouts ones that push me to my limits both mentally and physically.

Still trying to figure out how we were smiling after such an intense workout. There are two Buddhaburn classes coming up this Tuesday May 17th one at 6:30 & 7:30pm. I will be at the 7:30 class so much sure to sign up here to sweat it out !

My First Soulcycle Experience

Last Monday a group of my bbg sisters and I went to Soulcycle. I have been wanting to go to soul-cycle for months now and I am so glad I finally built up the courage to go. I went to the Chelsea Location and instantly fell in love.Everyone at the front desk was so friendly and check- in was quick. Since it was my first time at Soul-cycle a lovely lady at the desk gave me a tour of the studio which was awesome. I took the 7:30pm class with Ariel which was  Lady Gaga v. Sia themed. I never realized how big of an impact good music has on your workout until that class.It was hard to keep up at first but as the class went on I was getting the hang of it. I also loved that they incorporated hand weights which made it like a full body workout. I would definitely recommend Soul-cycle to anyone who is a fitness junkie or even a newbie.

What to expect during your first Soul-cycle class 

  1. You are going to get sweaty, really sweaty and maybe a little stinky
  2. You are going to go through a couple of stages when you are spinning the; THIS ISN’T EVEN THAT HARD, GET ME OFF THIS BIKE WHO SIGNED ME UP FOR THIS ,THIS ACTUALLY ISN’T THAT BAD, I WANT TO DO THIS AGAIN
  3. You are going to look forward to the water breaks
  4. There will be points where you are going so fast you feel like you might fall off your bike but don’t worry it wont happen

 

Overall I loved Soul-cycle so much and I can’t wait to go back. If you are looking for a high intensity workout with passionate instructors and great music I would definitely check it out.

 

 

Nike Running Club

Happy Sunday Everyone ! Bright and early this morning, I got my butt out of bed to head to a Nike Running Club Event with my friend Kat and Alison ( btw Alison has an awesome fitness blog you should check it out). If you guys didn’t know Nike has events during the week at there stores like Ready Set Go Run , HIT, Morning Miles, Speed Run and many more. Today my friends and I went to the 10:04am Ready Set Go Run, which is pretty much an introduction to running and teaching you how to get your body ready both, mentally and physically.It was awesome learning about dynamic and static stretching as well as seeing how much my body adapted to running so fast. I don’t run, seriously so when my friend Kat asked if I wanted to come today I was scared but said why not I have nothing to lose and absolutely loved it. I ran almost 3 miles and it felt so great, it’s awesome to see what you are capable of if you just try.
