Happy Friday Eve everyone !! This week flew by and I am so glad it’s almost the weekend. I will be spending another weekend at the beach so I am excited because the beach is my happy place. I can’t believe I am going into my sophomore year of college I seriously can’t wait, I have so much going for me this year. I’ve been thinking about how I want to decorate my dorm room. I was on Pinterest a few weeks back and I saw a beach themed dorm room and I fell in love. Which made me want that to be my theme for my room this year as well as adding cozy & comfort details mixed in as well.
So these are just a few of the images that I will be basing my dorm room off this year. What do you all want your room to look like ?
Happy HumpDay Everyone !! I love music and I thought I would share with you all what I’ve been listening to recently. Once you all read this playlist you are going to see that I have a diverse music selection, from country, pop, hip-hop etc. The playlist I will be sharing with you all today is my July playlist that I will be adding to throughout this entire month.
This playlist is perfect for any occasion a girls night in, beach day, lake day, those top down days. I hope you all give it a listen.
I hope you all enjoy this amazing month and make awesome summer memories !!
Hello July ! This is gonna be a good month, a lot of memories are going to be made this month and I can’t wait ! I haven’t written a goals post since last August almost a year ago. I miss these because they keep me accountable for striving towards my goals everyday.
- Keep a consistent workout schedule. Last month I started training for a half marathon and I couldn’t be more proud of myself. This is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time and I am so happy to say that I will be running one in October. That being said some days I can feel lazy and not want to go for my run, but I need to just push myself to do it because it will all pay off in the end.
- Post 3 videos a week on my YouTube Channel. My channel has grown a lot this year and being that it is summer, this is the perfect opportunity to work hard on my videos and start putting out more content.
- Don’t spend my money on silly things. Last month I was doing great at saving my money and not spending it on silly things and I just want to continue that into this month.
- Go to a coffee shop once a week to do my work. I have a virtual internship and I am also taking an online class this summer and I tend to be in my house most of the morning and early afternoon on my computer. I wanna make an effort to go to a coffee shop once a week so that I can get out of my house early.
So that wraps up my July Goals, I hope you all enjoyed reading it. Make sure to check back next month to see what I accomplished from this list.
As you all can tell it’s been hard for me to get back into the swing of blogging but I am trying my best. I am doing a Weekly Wrapup again because it’s Friday so it is time to reflect on this past week.
Internship // This week I officially started my internship with a small PR company and I couldn’t be more excited. My internship is half in the office/ half online. So a lot of mornings consist of me at my beautiful desk typing away at my laptop. I’ve already learned a lot and I am so excited to see what else is in store for the remainder of the summer.
New Friends // Monday I made a really bold decision to go out to dinner with someone I didn’t know. Now the way I am typing this, sounds scary but it really wasn’t. So here is the little back story. I’ve followed Joi for a while because as you all know USC was my dream school but I sadly didn’t get in. Joi actually goes there and is in the Annenberg School. She recently posted on Instagram she was interning at Elle Magazine. Amazing right !! So I decided to comment and ask if she wanted to hangout sometime and that’s how we ended up at El Centro. Haha. We have a lot in common and I can’t wait to continue to build this friendship.
Sunsets // I don’t even need to explain this. What would a weekly wrapup be without a beautiful sunset.
Half- Marathon Training // This week marked my first full week of half marathon training and boy has it been hard. However I have been seeing improvement and I can actually run for 10 minutes without stopping now, I know sounds pathetic. Haha I am proud !
Wow ! Long time no post, my blog has been neglected for a few months now but I am so glad to start blogging again. My weekly wrapups were always my favorite post to write because I love reflecting on my week. This week was a good one it consisted of a few days of work but also some fun mixed in between.
Beach Day // Sunday my friend Nyela and I went to the beach to take advantage of the warm weather NYC was having for a few days. Any excuse to go to the beach I’m down. As you all know I love the beach so much it’s my happy place so I love to spend as much time as I can there in the summer.
MATCHA // Yesterday Nyela and I hanged out again and we went to Cha Cha Matcha. This cute cafe in Nolita sells everything matcha even soft serve. Since it was my first time there I decided to try the Matcha Lemonade and it did not disappoint. It was delicious and I can’t wait to go back.
SUMMER VLOGS // I’ve always attempted to vlog but never really stuck with it. However, I want to document this summer because I love the idea of vlogging and enjoy it, it’s just so hard for me to stick with it. I am on day two of vlogging so trying to make it to day 10 without missing a day !! Fingers crossed !
So that’s it for my weekly wrapup, did any of you do anything fun this week ? I would love to know leave a comment.
I have a few places that I want to visit this year and I’m so excited to make these into realities. I think traveling is so important to experience other places and cultures. As well as giving yourself relaxation time from work or school. I’m so happy that I have almost 4 full months off for summer. While I’m applying for internships, I hope to also spend a great amount of my weekends off making memories.
With all that being said here are the 7 places I definitely want to visit this year:
Fire Island // Oh how I love this place ! Fire Island is such an amazing place to go for a beach getaway that’s not to far from NYC. It does include a train & ferry ride but once you’re there it feels like you are thousands of miles from the city. As most of you know I was born & raised in NYC and still live there till this day. I love the city but as much as everyone else I need a break from it sometimes, which is why FI is a great escape. A few friends and I are planning to stay for a week this summer. I’m hoping everyone’s schedule allows for us to stay a week. However even if its a weekend it will still be great to be back on this beautiful and peaceful island.
Coachella // Coachella has always been the first music festival I’ve wanted to attend. Since the line up this year is especially killer because the one and only Queen B is gonna be there I would love to go. This is a far reach being that Coachella is around 3 months away and I don’t have a ticket or money to buy one, but hey a girl can dream.
Washington D.C // My mom and I were discussing a few months ago on how we want to visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture. I have read so much about the museum and the different exhibits that they have. I can’t wait to go and learn more about African American Culture throughout the different parts of the U.S .
LA // One of my amazing friends is moving out to LA this summer to start college and I can’t explain how proud I am of her. She is such a hardworking girl and truly deserves all the blessings she has. I would love to go visit her later on this year around September or October when she is all settled in, so I will definitely try to make this one of my priority trips this year.
North Carolina // I have a lot of family that lives in North Carolina and I haven’t been in years so I would love to make that trip down there to visit everyone. I think this may end up turning into two trips because I also want to go to visit my cousin who goes to college there as well. Most likely for homecoming weekend because her school goes all out.
Nantucket // Another Island I want to visit this year. I absolutely love the beach and I’ve heard so many great things about Nantucket. I would love to visit to see what all the hype is about. Even though I know I’ll love it, I’ve seen tons of photos of Nantucket and everything about it is absolutely gorgeous.
Long time no speak everyone, I’ve been gone for 4 months and I still can’t believe I actually survived my first semester of college. I wanted to do a reflection on my first semester because I learned so much about myself as well as life and wanted to share them with you all. The first semester of college for me was the most overwhelming time I have experienced in my life so far. Not only was I trying to adjust to a new environment way different from where I’m from, issues in my personal life started to arise which didn’t add to it. However I absolutely love college so much and how much it teaches you in so little time.
Homesickness / Ohhh homesickness, the feeling I didn’t think I would actually experience. I’ve gone to sleep away camp my whole life, so going away to college I didn’t think I would get home sick because I never did before. After my mom left for move in day I wasn’t sad, however that homesickness hit me so hard around the 2nd or 3rd day. It was a feeling that was hard to explain it was the emotions of being in a new environment, not knowing anyone and really missing my mom. It took me until about October to fully get over my homesickness but it’s okay. Most people go through it so don’t feel bad if you’re still feeling homesick as well.
Course Load / Wow okay so when I was asking some of my friends who are already in school last year how the college course load was all of the told me it was a lot. Now me being me I wanted to see this for myself and ohh boy no one was lying. The college course load is no joke, you get a lot more work than high school and if you don’t know how to study before you get to school. You’re gonna learn very quickly because studying becomes apart of your daily life. However you have a lot more time in college so if you have time management skills you will find time for extracurricular activities.
Independence / I love how independent you are in college. You are ultimately in charge of your own outcome because there is no one there to tell you what to do or when to do it. You do almost everything on your own from deciding when to eat to doing your own laundry. You decide what you want to do each day and how to space out your priorities.
Girl Gang / Wow Curly Gang ! If you follow me on Snapchat you would know all about my girl gang. If it wasn’t for these girls I honestly would not have survived my first semester. We have all been supportive of each other through thick and thin and are always pushing each other to be the best possible version of ourselves.I appreciate them so much and I can’t wait to kill it in the spring semester with those lovely girls by my side.
Those are just a few things I learned my first semester and I can’t wait to see what the spring semester has in store for me. It’s gonna be a lot of fun and I can’t wait to make even more memories.
If you’re in college, how was your fall semester ?
Yesterday marked my last Saturday in the city before I head upstate to college and I couldn’t have asked for a better day. One of my best friends Livia had the awesome idea to go to Fire Island for the day.
Our day started off by catching the 8:45am train at Penn Station to Bayshore. Once we got to Bayshore we got on a Davids taxi to the Fire Island Ferry. We got on the 10am ferry and got to Ocean beach at around 10:30am. We automatically walked to the beach, Ocean Beach is such a cute beach town and when I got off the boat I felt like I was at home !
Also can we talk about how its not required to wear shoes or pants ! You can literally walk around the town in a bikini. At one point during the day I was just walking around in a t shirt and bikini bottom like seriously that’s my type of town.
Shoutout to Livia for bringing her Polaroid to capture some really cute moments. I really need to buy a Polaroid so that I can take it with me when I travel.
We went to some of the shops to pick up these cute friendship bracelets, so that we would never forget this amazing trip. I’m so glad I got to end my summer in such an amazing place with great people.
Hana and I sitting on the beach testing out the camera. I’m so happy about the quality of these pictures none of them have a filter.
Can we talk about this sunset, if you’ve been following me for a while you would know my obsession with sunsets. Like in all seriousness friends & even my mom told me that I should start an Instagram dedicated to sunsets. This sunset definitely didn’t disappoint.
I love Fire Island because I feel so at home there, I cant wait to come back next summer and with that being said bye Summer’16 you were definitely one to remember.
Here is a little montage I put together of our day :

Summer is almost over & I still feel like I have so many things left to do to make my Summer unforgettable. I made a Summer Bucketlist back in June & want to start making a conscience effort to finish it before I leave for school. I also just realized I haven’t shared my goals on my blog in a while & I miss writing these posts so they are back for good.
- Get back into my regular workout routine. The month of July I fell off the working out train and didn’t really make an effort. I also wasn’t feeling all that motivated so I guess it was a well deserved break. However I’m feeling so motivated now and I can’t wait to get back in the gym
- Pre-plan Blogtember Challenge posts. If you guys have been following me for a while now you would know that last year I participated in Bailey Jean’s Annual Blogtember Challenge. It’s a blogging challenge where you have to blog everyday for the month of September. Last year I did pretty well doing 21 out of the 30 days. This year I want to pre-plan a few of the posts so I can actually complete it.
- Upload 2x a week. I want to start building a consistent uploading schedule going into the school year so that I can keep uploading while in College.
- Finish Summer Bucketlist. I made this bucketlist to make this summer more memorable so finishing it would be an accomplishment.
- Attempt the 24 hour Read-a Thon. I’ve really been bad at keeping up with my books this summer so I hope that trying this 24 hour read-a-thon will get me back into the swing of things.
So that’s it for my goals this month, what are some of your goals for this month leave them below !
